The Lord's hand in ALL things...

During the last 6 minutes of Shane's indoor soccer game Tuesday night he was seriously injured. After much trauma to his brain and a quick priesthood blessing he was life flighted to the hospital and found that his skull was fractured in three places and his brain was bruised with blood pooling heavily underneath his skin above his left eye. He was kept at the hospital to try to regain his consciousness as well as keep an eye on the amount of blood...if it began seeping into his brain Shane would be rushed into emergency surgery to drill holes in his skull to release the pressure. After many tears, and faithful prayers Shane survived the night well. He is not in great shape but is still being watched over carefully, not only by doctors and family, but the Lord as well.
Shane will be out of work and only allowed tolerable activity for the next four weeks.
Please keep Shane in your prayers. We have felt the power in your faith and know that if we do this together, Shane will be healed.
WE LOVE YOU SHANE...

Hi Kenz,

Well, it feels a little strange writing about this here on the blog, but as of right now, I don't know how else to contact you. Anyway, I heard about Shane and have not been able to stop thinking about both of you. I'm sorry that you've both had to go through such a tragic thing. I'm glad to hear he is progressing, and oh my goodness, what a miracle you have witnessed. We will pray for Shane AND you. And I hope that he gets better very soon.

Once I saw this post, I couldn't stop without reading all of your other cute posts and it made me realize how much I miss your cute self! You and Shane seriously are just so cute and sweet to each other. Thanks for posting all you fun adventures because it really is so fun to read and I think your love is an example/inspiration to everybody who reads your blog. Wow, it would be fun to catch up! I guess now isn't the best time, but I am happy for you about buying a home and teaching ballet (cool!) and all the other cute things you wrote about that made me smile.

Well, hopefully, when all is better we could get together. I would really love that. We will continue to pray for you.

Love, Marie

It's hard to believe that my 21 year-old sister has handled this traumatic experience in her life with such maturity and faith. We love you and Shane more than words could ever describe and have been praying for you day and night.
I have learned one thing that I didn't know before, and that's that my children love and need their uncle Shane and aunt Kenzie no matter the circumstance and regardless of their condition. I've been amazed, first, with your jaw surgery, and now, with Shane's huge head ingury, how easy it is for my young children to jump up into your bed and hold on to you guys like there's no tomorrow. They truly do love you two much like they love their mom and dad :) Get better Shane... this family needs you :) We love you guys.
